About James Donaghue SEO Consultant & Freelance Writer

It is great to have been invited to write for Lumaarcade, a blog that I have always read, but then noticed that recently not much content has been contributed as of late. I am here to start 2 new sections to the blog roll and to redesign the home page at some point to make the blog more interesting.

For now, I am writing this blog just to introduce myself as the blog’s new project manager and contributor. I will also be hiring other people to write on this blog, so we have a wide range of ideas and opinions on the following subjects:

  • Web design
  • Digital Marketing
  • Technology
  • Blockchain Technologies
  • Cryptocurrencies
  • Software

I would like to ask anyone that would like to contribute a blog to send an email via our contact us form. I will only be accepting high-quality posts with 100% correct grammar. We do not allow people to add anchors to home pages or to sales pages. That means that if the purpose of you asking to contribute content this blog is to link to your home page, we will remove it.

The idea of the blogs that we will be posting here on Lumaarcade is to give people informative information and add links to educational websites and resources that help the reader study further.

About Me

I have been working as an online digital marketer for over 8 years. I began working online as a writer and then progressed into SEO. Today I am involved in several projects that focus on generating online traffic for my clients. The key to success has always been content. Whether you are using Google Ads, Bing Ads, social media channels, or banner advertising, the landing page that the user visits as a result of using these digital marketing strategies will only be effective if the content is relevant and of high-quality.

My main role at the moment for my clients is the project manager. I understand the processes used to ensure every aspect of any digital marketing project is covered. I look at the bigger picture and organise all the parts of the jigsaw.

  • Graphic Designers

I make sure graphic designers work on providing infographics, images, and mock up landing page graphics for web design projects, social media, pay-per-click ads, blogs, and any other jobs that require a graphic designer.

  • Content Management

Content management is broken down into different sections. Organising content is similar to running a factory line. You need to hire good writers at the right price. You also need editors/proofreaders as well as quality control personnel. On top of this, you need trustworthy people to upload content. Content includes the written work as well as the graphic designs that go with the articles. Uploads can range from regularly uploading blogs to having someone load content onto a web page.

  • SEO Management

Managing SEO is a tough job. There is the outreach aspect of the job, which falls closely in line with content management. When my team outreaches to a website, it is to contribute high-quality content with images and infographics included. On top of this, we offer to contribute updates to outdated blogs, which are easy to find if the niche that we are targeting is one that changes often. For example, I write a lot about blockchain technologies. I also manage the outreach solution for websites that cover cryptocurrencies.

I know when there have been major changes with cryptocurrencies, and I often come across outdated content when I am researching a news article. This gives me an immediate opportunity to offer to update the content in return for a mention about one of the websites I am helping build their SEO.

Arguably one of the most time-consuming tasks when it comes to outreach is getting the content right. Making sure it is relevant and interesting. There is no point in placing content on a high traffic site if people that see it get bored of reading it after the first paragraph.

SEO is not just about content placements. One of the toughest aspects of being an SEO is making sure that my clients stay in line with the latest on-page SEO updates. Search engines are hot on the subject of user experience and as such, that means I have to make sure page speeds on my client sites are always fast. The issue is when there are regular changes on these sites, things such as images are uploaded regularly. When the image is oversized, it will slow down the page speed. Also, people tend to forget certain SEO indicators such as something as simple as adding an ALT tag.

As a result, I make sure that a full on-page SEO audit runs on all my client sites at least once every quarter. A list of actionable tasks is made, and the web developers have to return to pages they edited and update them in order to bring them in line with the Google algorithm.

I am literally giving you the short version here, but you can already see that there is a lot to SEO management.

  • Web Design

There is so much competition out there from web designers, sadly I do not get involved with too many brand new web development projects. I actually enjoy web design whether it is building a new site, migrations, or redesigning an old site. I have to work with my graphic designers, content writers, editors, QC personnel, and my SEO team. We have to put together site maps, wireframes, mock graphics for the final design, creating structured silos, landing pages, blogs and so on.

As I love project managing, I love web design projects. I have a plan and schedule mapped out and then start to assign everyone their tasks. The most gratifying stage of the process is when it all starts to come together. The content goes up, the branded images, graphic design, video, menus, and so on. Testing the site is the last stage where all the bugs are ironed out.

  • Pay Per Click Marketing

I have to be honest, this is part of digital marketing I hate the most. I really do not enjoy it. I did when I first started to dabble in PPC, but nothing really changes. I have to admit that I hire a team of expert PPC strategists, and I would like to keep it that way. They manage my PPC projects, so I don’t have to. That said, the initial research stages I do quite enjoy. The design of the landing page, content, graphic designs, infographics, plus making sure it is fully mobile responsive and passes the Google Page Speed Insights tests are all enjoyable.

On top of this, planning the content and sales funnels is interesting work. I get to do a lot of A/B testing and study traffic analytics. It is extremely satisfying when you make tweaks to the sales funnel or content that increases the time people spend on the page and increases the number of goals we hit as well as conversions.

Then there is the actual design of Ads depending on the strategy being used. Display Ads require graphic designers; as do banner ads. Working through ideas with graphic designers to create nice looking digital ads is one of the most interesting PPC tasks.

  • Social Media

I have not even touched on the subjects social media and the various platforms out there. There are the most obvious, which are Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. I tend not to get involved in the paid advertsing side of social media campaigns too much. Once again I do not enjoy the running of the campaigns. Instead, this is another area I outsource.

As for the areas I am interested in, this would be working with the graphic designers once again. Creating infographics for Instagram has been the latest task have taken on. This was for an accountancy company that wanted to start to try and see how Instagram would work for them after a successful Facebook campaign.

We basically used infographics and images for the entire project. The infographics broke down the outsourced accountancy packages. This proved to be very successful, and now we are trying the same method for a car insurance company in Thailand. We also used a lot of imagery.

They say a picture can speak a 1,000 words. Using the right images and getting the graphic designers to use phrases on top of these images we were able to build up the brand image. Pictures of happy customers, employees, and corporate social responsibility activities that were popular on Facebook were redesigned or edited to suit an Instagram based target audience.  It is fair to say that now the Instagram campaign is as successful as the Facebook campaign was.

Rounding Up My Intro

As you have had to read a lot about what I have been doing with the field of digital marketing, I will keep this short. You probably have a pretty clear picture of my role as a digital marketer. I tend to get involved in every aspect of the entire integrated digital marketing plan. Sometimes maybe I get a little too deep into some of these areas, or at least it may seem that way. However, most of the time I rely on my team to come up with the final solution. I just bring all the pieces together, but it is the graphic designers that the experts when it comes to expression using imagery.

I am not artistic, and so I have an idea of what is needed, but it is my designers that really come up with the final product. They really count for a lot of the work on all the projects. On top of this, my writers and editors are just as important. If they did not understand the target audience, then my projects would not produce the results that they do. Plus, my analytic teams are another important piece of the puzzle. They create reports that show the data that helps us to spot trends and make the next move, so we can always improve the online traffic stats that result in giving my clients a positive ROI.

Why I Prefer Online PC Games Compared to Games Consoles

Recently one of my friends asked me why I have not upgraded my Xbox or PlayStation 3. In fact, after he asked me, the first thing I decided to do was to put them both on Ebay. I used to hold on to my old games consoles, but that is something I just don’t do anymore because the newer consoles no longer hold any sentimental value to me (who knows – maybe in the future they will). For now, I am a through and through online gamers using my PC as my weapon to play – but I ask myself why have I gone this direction?

I think I just like the convenience of using my PC to paly games. I also have an Alienware laptop, so when it comes to travelling and playing games, I am not restricted to just my PC. Now the cots of all this may sound pretty high because my laptop was $1,000 and my PC rig has so far cost me $1,500. That is $2,500 on purely gaming equipment.

However, my laptop you can discount because I need my laptop for work. Arguably, I could also use my laptop at home instead of the gaming PC. This is where my costs come in. So now you are probably wondering why I am talking about the cost of my gaming equipment.

One of the big reasons I can fork out so much cash on my gaming rig is because the game I play are either free like League of Legends or they cost me next to nothing as I bought them from a gaming provider like Steam gaming.

Also, the games I like to play the most and use to play on consoles are all available on PC. Street Fighter, SIM City, Warhammer, and Grand Theft Auto. Therefore, the only argument I could have for having a games console is to play games that are exclusive to PlayStation or Xbox.

Now saying this, I do always by the new Nintendo just because it is interactive and is great for friends  and family entertainment.

However, the main point here is that Nintendo and PlayStation are so limited in what they can do compare to my PC that the only reason I could think for owning an xBox or PlayStation is because I can carry them around with me or take them holiday. But, my laptop does that, and because if I do go away, I have to work on my laptop, it would just add to my luggage.

I know I may be swinging from one example to another here, but the facts are there. Consoles just don’t have the convenience of laptops or desktops. I can upgrade my PC anytime for as little as $500 by selling something like my old processor or graphics card and buying new ones – whereas console I have to spend a fortune on upgrading – although I can arguably always sell the old console.

Probably though the biggest selling point for me to become a PC player is that the game once downloaded are there forever. Also, they are a hell of lot cheaper compared to console games. With the amount of cash, I save on games and being able to keep my old games, I am able to continuously upgrade my PC to a better spec.

As for my laptop, it will need upgrading, but only after about 4 years. This is something I would have to to do regardless because my laptop is an integral part of my work life. Without it, I would not be as productive in my work.

Last but not least is the fact that I also play a lot of Multi-player battle arena games such Dota 2, Combat Arms, and Overwatch. These are my most played games to be honest and they are free to a certain extent. The great thing about these games is that they never grow tiresome. Dota 2 I have played for about 2 years and I have currently clocked up over 3,500 hours playing a game that is free.

In the end, why would I need anything more than the PC and laptop I have? I have the games I want to play, I am always building on that list with games that last forever, and I save so much money by not having to always purchase new games for my console that I get to constantly upgrade my PC to a higher spec for about $300 a year. Plus, with all the cash I save, I can easily afford to buy a top of the range gaming laptop that will last me for years for both gaming and work.

What is The Future for Online Gaming?

At the moment online gaming is now considered the only way to play games. Anyone that has a PC, console, or mobile device used to play games is either playing a game streamed via the internet or playing a game on a device that is hooked up to the internet for multi-player gaming. Overall, the internet is the new place for any kind of gaming. However, what do you think the future holds for online gaming?
There are several new concepts coming into play that could change the way we play games online.

Virtual Reality
This is probably the most obvious online gaming concept that anyone has predicted for the future. Nonetheless, we have not seen this side of online gaming develop at all. In fact, I can’t think of a Virtual Reality game that has really kicked off at all. As a result, I did some research.
Now PlayStation seems to have been giving VR technology a good go. As I ditched my PlayStation for PC gaming, I have not kept up to speed with the latest developments. During my research though, I found a great small article that gives you the lowdown on how VR games are coming through.
Have a read here as this article has been written by someone with deep knowledge of the VR industry and its current developments. virtual reality game.

Blockchain Gaming
This is an area where I expect online gaming to bubble and burst through into the marketplace. Right now the benefits of blockchain gaming are not overly clear. The architecture is really set up to give people a more secure platform. For online gaming, it is not exactly a huge deal as rarely do people get hacked into playing online games. However, the fact remains that hacking does exist within the online gaming industry, so the blockchain could serve a purpose here.
Other suggestions have been how to stall the rising price of games at the moment. There are blockchain solutions out there that have suggested that the gaming developer and the players can hook up directly cutting out the middleman. This would mean sending the game directly to the user from the developer reducing the cost of gaming for the buyer.

Another feature of blockchain gaming is that the way it is developed means that players will not be able to use cheats or hacks. Many games are hacked and codes connect to other strings of code that the hacker has been able to manipulate. By applying the hack, the player can then gain an unfair advantage. This is obviously quite frustrating for those that are playing multi-player games online fairly. A person using a cheat can just come along and use the hack to gain better results, and those that play fairly will have to suffer.
There are also a host of new games coming out on the blockchain. We are not really sure how these games will operate and what the advantages are to using them on the blockchain. We will just have to wait and see.

MOBA Gaming
With big bucks being ploughed into some of the top MOBA games for those that can become pros, the MOBA gaming industry is on fire. An increasing number of people are spending money on their fav MOBA game more than ever before.
The top 10 games paying out the pros the most money are as follows:

  1. Dota 2
  2. League of Legends
  3. Smite
  4. Halo
  5. 5: Guardians
  6. Hearthstone
  7. Heroes of the Storm
  8. Call of Duty: Black Ops II
  9. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
  10. Overwatch
  11. Crossfire You can check out the full list here: https://www.esportsearnings.com/tournaments

There are also so many other games where pro players are winning large amounts of cash. FIFA Football and Gran Turismo are just 2 games that spring to mind immediately. Other games, such as Drone games, are leading to the recruitment of Drone pilots in the US army
Overall, it is very interesting when you look at the way online gaming is developing. It has become a global trend that is rising rapidly and shows no sign of slowing down. Keep your eyes peeled as we look for more updates on the future of online gaming.

Mobile Gaming Overtakes PC and Console Games

This probably won’t come as a huge shock, but the revenue for mobile gaming has now surpassed the revenue taken in for console gaming and PC gaming. Now mobile gaming accounts over 50% of revenue in online gaming market with PCs and mobiles making up the other half. This includes tablets and smartphones combined both beating PCs and consoles combined.

In fact, the mobile gaming market takes up a staggering $70.3 billion in revenue to date. Mobile and PC gaming combined takes up $67.5 billion of a gaming market worth $137.8 billion. Therefore, mobile gaming in fact takes up 51% of the total market share.
This increase was only just reported meaning mobile gaming has only recently trended above PC and console gaming revenue.

By 2021, the online gaming market is predicted to be worth a gigantic $180.1 billion. Of that amount, mobile gaming is predicted to be worth at least $100 billion exceeding the console and PC gaming market and making mobile gaming the dominate force in the industry.

With such figures, this shows that anyone interested in investing in the gaming market should firstly look at shares in anything that is related to mobile games. With a growing market and revenue still increasing the mobile and tablet gaming market will be 59% of the online gaming industry’s total revenue. There is certainly enough room to invest in this particular segment and expect a decent return.
That being said, even the rising revenues in the PC and console gaming market are not a bad investment as both these market sectors are still very much alive in the race for dominance. PC gaming may not be your best bet at the moment just because both markets are not set to rise as much as mobile.

Expected Percentage Rise By 2021:

  • Mobile: 26.8% Increase in gaming industry market share
  • PC: 3.1% increase in gaming industry market share
  • Console Gaming: 2.3% increase in gaming industry market share

Why is the PC Gaming Market Still Rising?

With the huge increase in the popularity of MOBA gaming; otherwise known as eSports, the PC gaming market is still very much alive. eSports have literally saved PC gaming with free software downloads to play many of these games. Where the revenue comes from is buying extras such as tournament or season passes as well as virtual merchandise.
For instance, in the game League of Legends, you can buy virtual swords, armour, and complete outfits for the Champions players use. There are also tons of other things you can buy from the online virtual shop on the LOL game. The same goes for many other MOBA/eSports games. All of them give members an option to make purchases and this is expected to fuel the PC gaming market.

Console Gaming
More than anything it seems console gaming has reached a peak at present. Those that buy updated consoles are generally console gaming fans. There does not seem to be too much of a rise in sales although PlayStation always seems to beat its previous PlayStation version of sales. However, games also come at a higher price the previous console and this can slow down the market or even put people off because PC and mobile gaming have much cheaper options.

This is especially true in countries with low economy outputs. Countries in South East Asia and Africa tend to have a lot of mobile and PC gamers playing free games. As opposed to forking out a large sum of cash on a new console game, lower income citizens prefer to play free games and spend a small amount of cash upgrading their gaming experience, which these costs can be as little as 5% of the cost of a fully blown original PlayStation 4 game.

As a result, consoles are aimed at high society demographics as well as higher developer countries where salaries are high such as Canada, USA, France, England, Australia, New Zealand and most countries in Europe. The cost of a console game does not break the bank for these citizens. On the other hand, free games on PCs tend to attract more buyers with each sale worth much less from lesser developed economies.

Mobile Gaming
Mobile gaming is similar to that of PC gaming. Many people like to play the free games, but they will pay for extra to enhance their gaming experience. These extras are usually very cheap and once again as low as 5% of the cost of buying a brand-new console game. Mobile also has several advantages over PC and console gaming.

Firstly, with smartphones now affordable to those that previously could not afford the luxury of owning a touchscreen telephone, nearly everyone in the world is getting connected. 3G and 4G is widely available even in the remotest of locations in some of the poorest nations. Plus, it seems everyone needs a telephone. The inevitable result is a large percentage of the world’s population connecting to the internet where access to games can be made from anywhere.

Secondly, most mobile games are free. If you want to make additional purchases, the option is there. Alternatively, you can continue playing for free. However, with the latest revenue mobile games are brining in, it seems that a lot of people cannot resist the chance to spend some money on their favourite game.
There is stiff competition out there and gaming is down to everyone personal preference. However, there is no doubt anymore about which is most popular. Smartphone and tablet gaming is here to stay and set to rise exponentially over the next half a decade.

What To Consider While Purchasing A Gaming Laptop

The demand for the new and improved gaming laptops have been on the rise. It is the direct outcome of the hike in the number of game developing companies.

The kids of the present generation are no longer interested in playing video games. They desire to achieve something that will provide them with thrill and excitement. This requirement can only be fulfilled by the HD multiplayer games.

Apart from the fact that these games are far better than the crude video games, they can also be played online. It means, one can indulge in the multiplayer experience, even though the other player is located at the far end of the globe.

High Quality Of The Parts
There is a stark difference between the normal laptops and the ones which are manufacturers, especially for the purpose of gaming. The gaming laptops look similar to the normal laptops, but the real difference lies in the internal parts. As a high-speed computer games require a quicker processor, it is imperative that the parts of the laptops are of high quality. If the parts are not of high quality, then the player will not be able to get the real experience of the game. The last thing one desires is the game stopping by itself as the processor is unable to support the game.

Always Opt For Long-Lasting Laptops
The cost of most gaming laptops is high. Thus, when you are investing a lump sum amount for purchasing such a laptop, then you will want it to last for a long time. The HD games and online games take its toll on the processor of the laptop. So, opting for a laptop that will last for a long time is a must. The laptop manufacturing companies are upgrading the processor and the operating system often. It means that one will have to get the updated version to work with the laptop. But this is not the same for the gaming laptops.

Ease Of Upgrading And Versatility
It is a complicated task to upgrade the normal laptops. But the similar concept does not apply to the gaming laptops. Getting these laptops upgraded is as easy as replacing the flat tires of a car. All that one needs to do is open the laptop and change the old parts with the new parts. Thus, the option of purchasing a new gaming laptop can be ruled out. By changing only the old parts of the laptop, a person can also save a lot of money.
Apart from this, one needs to take a look at the reputation of the laptop manufacturing company. A good brand means you will get the worth of your money. With this, the cost also plays a pivotal role.
It is obvious that not all will have in-depth knowledge of the gaming laptops. There is no need to worry much if you are one of them. All you need to do is initiate a search on the internet with the right keywords. Getting in touch with the experts in the sector will provide you the information you desire to acquire. In case you purchase a gaming laptop today, it can be used for a long time.

Steam Gaming Review

Steam Gaming has been providing an online gaming platform and shopping area for online gamers to play games on desktop and mobile devices. It is by far one of the most popular gaming engines online today and there is no doubt that the company is one of the first stops for many of the online gaming developers to get their games listed for sale in the Steam gaming store.

The gaming engine is now home to 1,000s of game releases including games from new developers that have tried or successfully released fresh games designed by those looking to break into the online gaming market. Almost anyone can release a game either for free or for cash in the Steam Store as long Steam approve it.

What are some popular games available on Steam?

Sim City is a very well-known game released way before the internet was even known as a possibility by the public. Even the hit movie Back to the Future II has no mention of the internet and the film was set in 2015 when there were supposed to be flying cars. Obviously, we are past that time now and no sign of auto fitting clothes or highways for flying cars.

Well in the newer versions of Sim City futuristic buildings are possible and you can play the game far into the future building mega cities and even connecting cities by building not just one city but multiple cities.

Another popular game of old is Street Fighter. It is still going strong and a very popular game. With new characters now added to the game and some taken out, it is very different its original releases. You can buy items and clothing for the Street Fighter stars using the Steam Store and even have a shot at becoming a pro Street Fighter Player.

Then there is Dota II. A multi-player online battle arena (MOBA) game that has taken the world by storm. The game is a global sensation and unlike Street Fighter and Sim City, you can download it from Steam for free. That isn’t to say you won’t spend any money on the game because there are battle passes, items, and extra game features that you can buy.

Steam Mobile Gaming

One of the nice things about Steam is that it has been designed to be available on desktop and mobiles. iOS and Android downloads as well as Windows and Blackberry players can all log on and download games from Steam.

Steam Community

Looking for an online gaming community? Steam members can add other members as friends. Make friends from all over the world and you can join one of tens of thousands of Steam forums to discuss battle plans and gaming tactics. On some games you can even gift other Steam members with items for the game, character clothing and more.

Our overall verdict of Steam is very positive. The company has gone to great lengths to bring together a huge community of gamers that all share interests in similar game styles. You can even use the Steam service as a messenger service using its mobile and desktop chat app. Really, we have only just touched the tip of the iceberg here.

We high recommend downloading the Stream app and giving it a whirl for yourself.

Companies Using Games for Promotions to All Demographics

Something that I have noticed a lot recently is the number of companies using games to promote their business. They are usually temporary releases, simple, but engaging.
There is no doubt that online and mobile gaming is the second largest industry on the world when it comes to consistent interactivity with people. I say the second largest because there is no denying that Social Media is number one.

There are so many Social networks out there like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Periscope, Snapchat – even WhatsApp and LINE. They have all made it very easy for gaming companies and businesses that want to release a promo game to all age groups.

Yes, all age groups. Most people think ‘games’ = for young people that have nothing better to do with their time. That probably used to be the case before the internet came around in the 1990s. Kids used play games consoles, Amiga, Amstrad, Sega Mega drive, Nintendo, Gamboy and so forth.

Next the internet came. At first it didn’t spark a huge online game frenzy, but you could see it coming. The gaming industry, which was already immense before the internet, probably didn’t even realise how much the internet would change the way they operate.
PCs became more advanced, internet connections faster, and then came mobile technology! In the midst of all this was the release of Facebook – the instigator to the boom of Social networking.
Combining all these factors, the gaming companies were poised to jump on the chance to use a new way to reach a worldwide audience. Not only that, they would not be as restricted as they were in the past when it came to demographics.

With the convenience of the World Wide Web in our hands via smartphones, on our home PCs and on touchpads, it meant that everyone would soon adapt to technology no matter how much they resisted.
The inevitable result was, and still is, everyone from toddlers to pensioners would have access to the Web, and with that the gaming companies could expand their horizons and create games that would target all age groups – not just youngsters.

Promoting Games to the Older generation
Even older people that resisted Facebook can now be found on the world’s largest Social network.
In the end, our parents and even grandparents have decided that the best way to stay in touch with their loved ones is to just give in and join Facebook. And Facebook is just one platform that online games are being promoted on.
Arguably YouTube is another Social sharing platform that mum and dad will use. This is just another place for game companies to advertise their offering.
With older people now using Smarphones and Facebook, when an advertisement for Scrabble, Monopoly, Bingo and such like appear, they just cannot resist. This is where the trend of the older generation started to play game online be it on their PC, tablet, or mobile device.
As they become more tech savvy, the big companies out there cottoned onto this fact. It meant they could create games that would promote their business to the older generation using games as their engaging content.

Maybe a question and answer quiz, a bingo quiz or something that would engage them. At the end of it, there would be a 10% coupon at the store. Marks and Spencer have long been a favourite of the older generation. Imagine if they created a Social Media game for older people. If the game is completed at a certain level, then the discount voucher gets larger.

Promoting Games to Specific Niche Markets
The best example of this is the Astros game that was released by Cadbury’s a few years ago. As the chocolate Is related to space, the competition meant that the lucky winners would win a trip to the NASA command centre.
Space fanatics jumped on the game vying for the highest score. There was also a time limit set to get that high score. Players had to keep on playing to improve their skills at what was really a simple game. However, the better they became, the higher their score.
For those that had the highest score at the end of the competition won the privilege of an all-expenses paid trip to see NASA in action.
It was not just the idea of the game – it was the fact it was associated with chocolate and space. Plus, space research is where most of today’s technology derives from. It was the perfect promotion.

Promoting to the Young
Honestly, there is not much to tell. We all know that young people love games. It is easy for a company to capture the attention of the young because even without advertising playing games is contagious for the youth of today. Word of mouth and the fact that they all want to play games anyway makes it easy.
That is why companies like KFC and Krispy Kreme released gams to increase brand awareness of their food products. They know that they can influence young people to visit one of their many stored simply by offering a game with an incentive.
Check this out for more information to see how 4 businesses used digital games to reach their target audiences. Digital Market
I hope you enjoyed the read and took something from this. If you are a business owner or a marketer, then consider using games and place them on your Social Media to build brand awareness. Also, ensure there is an incentive at the end. Plus, don’t worry too much about cost because today to get a simple custom game made is not as an expensive task as you may think.
Take Google for example. Check out how simple things can be as they release their snakes game! Imagine offering the top 10 winners with the highest score each week a prize!

Upcoming Mobile Games Still to Come in 2017

Mobile gaming has come a very long way in recent years and things are only going to get better as technology advances. Not in the two distant past we had to accept that puzzle games like Candy Crush were our only options on our handheld devices due to limitations in technology. Nowadays, however, we can play awesome games such as strategy racing and shooter games that all have excellent graphics and provide some serious gaming satisfaction. The best part is that most of them are completely free to download and play!

2017 has already been a busy year with the release of many mobile games but the best is still yet to come with so very big names about to hit the market. You’ll be amazed when you see some of the names coming our way – as you’re almost certain to have played or seen some of these franchises before.

Could 2017 be one of the best ever years for mobile game releases? Well, take a little look through some of the games that are still to come this year and let us know what you think:

Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion

Those of you that are fans of console gaming are going to know all about the success that the Assassin’s Creed franchise has had over the years. While there was no new release in 2016, they have been targeting a double barreled attack in 2017 with the release of their latest console game alongside getting in on the mobile gaming market as well.

Assassin’s Creed: Rebellion is available for both Android and iOS users right now but its still in testing stages and has not been officially released. However, players can still download it from the stores and play it whiles it’s being developed. Requiring a good mix of strategy and logical thinking, Rebellion will have you increasing your ranks of assassins as you embark on some risky missions.

The Sims

There seems to be a lot of old computer games that are now making the switch over to the mobile industry. We’ve had the likes of GTA already make the move but now EA are working on bringing a full port of the ever-so-loved game called The Sims. Many of you will remember the hours of fun this game provided as you essentially spent time living the life of a graphic, instead of living your own real life.

Get jobs, get married, have kids and basically just take your character through all of the obstacles in life and hopefully allow them to retire a happy person who has fulfilled most of their dreams.

With tons of customizable options, plenty of content and a selection of unlockable stuff for you to work on, The Sims is almost certain to become as populas as it was when it was released on the PC decades ago. The release date has not been confirmed but it has been said that we should expect to see it by the end of the year.

Terra Battle 2

Another big title coming to all mobile platforms later this year is Terra Battle 2, the eagerly awaited sequel to the hugely popular original. At this moment in time, there is not a lot known about it other than what the developer has said publicly. He claims that the story will be very similar but the gameplay will be completely different to what the original had.

Players will battle alongside their companions, form strategies and formations and generally work together to defeat their enemies. The best news is that the game will be free to play but will also give a few bonuses to players that make any in-game purchases.

Hardcore gamers will remember the legendary Runescape and the huge popularity that it has received from players since its original conception back in 2001. 16 years later, and Jagex, who are the software developers behind the game, are now bringing it to users of the Android and iOS platforms.

If you’re thinking that it’s going to be a special mobile-edition that is just based on the game but in a different format, you’re wrong. What they are actually doing is bringing the whole game back just as it was when released and porting it over to the different operating systems. Both Old School Runescape and Runescape will be released late-2017 and early 2018 respectively and are tipped to become hugely successful mobile games.

Legend of Zelda

If you thought that Runescape was going to be most anticipated game on this list, you came very close but Legend of Zelda is just about going to edge it out in that regard. Nintendo are in the process of working on the title which is set to be released either later this year or early in 2018 at the latest.

Set to be released on both Android and iOS, the developers are not saying much about the game at the moment, which is really helping to build the mystery and anticipation around such a legendary franchise release.

As you can see, there are some cracking titles there to look forward to, some will have even given you flashbacks to your past when you already got your fair share of entertainment out of the franchises. 2017 is shaping up to be a very good year for us mobile gamers and while that’s great news; it makes us start to wonder about what might be in store come 2018!

We’re sure there will be some big surprises and more big names to come and we’ll be on hand to be the ones to let you know about them all.  Let us know in the comments if you know of any other big titles coming our way or whether you’re looking forward to the above titles.

Gaming Used in Cadbury’s Marketing!

If you plan to capture the attention of a huge and ever growing target market, then online gaming should be seriously researched. That is exactly what Cadbury’s in their ‘Astros Space Race’ competition.

There is no doubt that online gaming is one of the internet’s most popular past times. With an array of virtual games accessible from your phone, tablet, or Android, it is inevitable marketers will try their best to reach you through those apps on your phone.

One of the best marketing campaigns we have ever seen that involved mobile gaming was the Astros Space competition.

It was based on a game that was themed and marketed as a Space Race app. This was no ordinary Space Race because the stakes were high for space lovers.

After purchasing a specially marked Astros chocolate bar players could find the path to retrieving the mobile game‘s download path and credentials via a WAP capable cell phone.

Once they were ready to go players learned the game and bid for the highest score they could get. The winner would be the player that managed to get the highest score out of all players before the end of promotion date kicked in.

Over 1 month of multiple downloads and game play a winner with the highest score was born.

The Astros Space Race Prize

The prize was a trip to the USA that included a trip to Disney World’s Epcot Center, plus a visit to the Kennedy Space Center and a star prize being tickets to see a real-life rocket launch.

A Lesson to be Learned From Laser Targeted Promotions

In today’s day and age, the new up and coming generation are the most inquisitive and technological individuals.

This is the reasoning behind Cadbury’s idea to launch a space adventure based game that went hand in hand with the space theme of their product.

Astros was the result; a fresh game designed and launched especially for this competitive space race promotion. The idea of the competition was that all consumers needed to do was to purchase the Astros packs that came with the Astros competition mark.

Interacting with Your Target Audience

It was Promise brand Specialists that were the geniuses behind one of Cadbury’s most memorable promotions.

They came up with an inventive way to interact in the most entertaining way possible. It was an experiment for Cadburys and one that would make history as it was one of the very first inactive promotions of its time.

What an ingenious way to get your audience always thinking about your brand. Those that partook in the coopetition were on the game as much as possible in the hope they could master the quickest route to the highest score.

You can imagine how dedicated they would have been – and we are talking about tens of thousands of individuals.

That kind of marketing adds huge brand value
All those that interacted with the game will have an everlasting attachment with brand. This is something that a lot brands don’t have. And we particularly love this concept purely because it uses an online game.
